Indonesia National Holidays for 2023
The Indonesian Government has announced national holidays and collective leave days for 2023.
The decision is stipulated in the Joint Ministerial Decree of Minister of Religious Affairs, Minister of Manpower, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Number 1066 of 2022, Number 3 of 2022, Number 3 of 2022 on the 2023 National Holidays and Collective Leave.
“Today, the 2023 national holidays and collective leave have been decided and set,” said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy after the signing of the Joint Decree, in Jakarta, Tuesday (10/11).
The national holidays are as follows:
1 January (Sunday): New Year 2023
22 January (Sunday): Chinese New Year 2574 Kongzili
18 February (Saturday): Isra Mi’raj (Ascension Day) of Prophet Muhammad.
22 March (Wednesday): the Holy Day of Silence, Saka New Year 1945
7 April (Friday): Good Friday
22-23 April (Saturday-Sunday): Eid Al-Fitr 1444 Hijri
1 May (Monday): International Labor Day
18 May (Thursday): Ascension of Jesus Christ
1 June (Thursday): Pancasila Day
4 June (Sunday): Vesak Day 2567
29 June (Thursday): Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri
19 July (Wednesday): Islamic New Year 1445 Hijri
17 August (Thursday): Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia
28 September (Thursday): Birthday of Prophet Muhammad
25 December (Monday): Christmas Day
The collective leave is as follows:
23 January (Monday): Chinese New Year 2574 Kongzili
23 March (Thursday): the Holy Day of Silence, Saka New Year 1945
21, 24, 25, and 26 April (Friday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday): Eid Al-Fitr 1444 Hijri
2 June (Friday): Vesak Day 2567
26 December (Tuesday): Christmas Day
According to Muhadjir, there are 16 days of national holidays and 8 days of collective leave. “In total, there are 24 days of national holidays and collective leave,” he said. (UN) (FI/MMB)
