Odisha Mandates Age 6 For Class 1 Enrollment, Introduces ‘Shishu Vatika’
Odisha government sets age 6 as the minimum age for Class 1 enrollment, starting from the 2025-26 academic year. Additionally, ‘Shishu Vatika’ (preschools) will be established in all primary schools to offer pre-school education for children aged 5 to 6. This significant educational reform aims to strengthen early childhood education across the state.
