Bada Osa is obsereved in the month of November or Kartika Sukla Trayodashi (Thirteenth day of Bright fortnight of Kartik Month) every year. A day of major occasion fasting and devotion dedicated to Lord Shiva Baba Dhabaleswar at his temple in Cuttack.
On this occasion, devotees prepare Gaja Manda/Gaja Bhog, a unique sweet offering made with jaggery, rice, and coconut.
