Pandu Osha which falls on full moon day of Odia

Pandu Osha, also known as Pandu Purnima which falls on full moon day of Odia Margashira Month (December).
It is also called Pandu Purnmia. Some say that the Pandu osha is dedicated to Yudhisthira, the eldest amongst the Pandava brothers.
The observance is dedicated to Yudhisthira, the eldest of the Pandavas, or sometimes to Pandu Others say it to be dedicated to Pandu the father of Pandavas. No matter to whom it is dedicated, observing the osha is believed to bring good luck. Generally, young girls observed it for the welfare of their brothers.
They begin sweeping the roads and from this day and continue till next month which is known as Danda Pahanra.
A popular story associated with Pandu Osha states that the King of Kalinga had no children and his luck changed after he and the queen observed the Pandu Osha. In Badadeula at Jagannath Temple, Puri, Lord Jagannath performs shradha for his parents in Krishna and Rama incarnations.
He dons white Shradha besha on this day. Devotees gather to have the darshana of Lord Jagannatha in this besha.
