Budhi Baman Osha is also known as Budhei Osha. It observed every Wednesday (Budhabara) in month of Bhadra or in between August to september.

There are 4/5 Wednesday in this month. According to our odia tithi calculation, this osha or fast is celebrated in between Gamha purnima and Indupurnima, or from Bhadraba sankranti to Ashwina sankranti.
Budhi Baman Osha is a cherished festival deeply rooted in the tradition of odisha.
This festival holds a special place in the hearts of married women, who observed it with the hope of being blessed with children or ensuring the long, healthy lives of their offspring, some fast for their children, while some, who do not have any children, they do fast to get a child.
One can observe the fast on this brata either by completely avoiding food and water( nirjala)or by avoiding only food Especially rice.Lord Budh lopibaman get worshiped in this osha. Goddes Mangala or goddes Bhairabi or goddes Bimala is prayed as Budhei Devi.
On Wednesday Morning, the women who are in fasting, they clean the place where they worship.As per the rituals of the Budhibaman osha some elements flower of different colours, fruits, incense stick, durba grass, turmeric powder, gua(betel nut), kalash, seven grains,gangajal, rice grains, kaudi ( conch), coconut, red cloth(salu kana) sankha bangles
And vermilion are required for this worship.
Then, they setup matas chowki.Red cloth(salu kana) is placed on the chowki and then a kalash is installed. Before kalash installation 7 grains are placed under the kalash.Ganga jal, bettel nut, durba, turmeric, rice grains are put in the kalash.Mango leaves are placed in the kalash and coconut or green coconut is placed on top of it.
As per the rituals, in this worship first the sila and silapua are given a holy bath with gangajal.The grinding stone is then decorated as a women by applying turmeric, vermillion, conch,and flower to it.
The brata is observed on every Wednesday from the first week of Bhadraba month.
only a coconut and a betal nut are established at the worship placel which are broken on the last week worship and offer to the Goddes.
On the Wednesday in the week in between the starting and final worship day, Odia pitha and other Odia cake are offered. In the last week five type of pita are prepared.
Grinding stone and grinding bar (sila and sila pua) are the two important elements required for this Osha as these are regarded as deities.
