The expected qualifying cutoff of Re-NEET 2026 for the General category is likely to be around 165 marks. This only makes you eligible for counselling — it doesn’t guarantee a seat.

Safe Score for Government MBBS Seats (Admission Cutoff)
The overall Re-NEET UG 2026 cutoff for the General category is expected to be around 540–550 marks. General and EWS candidates scoring 580+ marks may have a better chance of securing government MBBS seats through counselling. OBC candidates with 560+, SC with 500+, and ST with 470+ marks are expected to remain competitive for government medical colleges.
For top government medical colleges, the safe score is considered around 650–700 marks for MBBS.
Students aiming for premier institutes like AIIMS Delhi could require 690+ marks.
Paper Difficulty
Based on initial feedback, Re-NEET 2026 was a fairly moderate paper, largely aligned with NCERT. Biology offered strong scoring opportunities, Chemistry remained balanced, while Physics emerged as the key differentiator with its focus on numericals and concepts
Based on this moderate-to-tough difficulty, the cutoff is expected to remain close to NEET 2025 levels, with a slight increase possible due to the additional preparation time candidates had.
