What is AgriStack Farmer
AgriStack is a digital framework that is meant to build a complete database for farmers that includes information about their identity, land records, income, loans, crop information, and insurance history.
Think of it like Aadhaar for farming. Each farmer gets a unique Farmer ID linked to Aadhaar and land records. The goal is to cover 6 crore+ farmers in the formal registry.
No private firm is building it – government clarified it’s built by the govt itself.
Why you need it?
The Farmer Registry assigns each farmer a unique Farmer ID, linking their details, land records, and eligibility for schemes like PM-KISAN, crop insurance, and subsidies.
Benefits listed officially:

How to register as a farmer?
- Go to your state AgriStack portal (e.g. agristack.odisha.gov.in / agristack.gov.in)
- Farmer Registration -> Aadhaar OTP authentication
- Verify land records – it pulls GPS coordinates of your plot and crops grown
- Get Farmer ID – you can then use it for PM-KISAN, crop insurance, KCC loan.
