Only one weekend holiday: Independence Day falls on Saturday, July 4, so it’s observed Friday, July 3.
Long weekends: You’ll get 4-day weekends around New Year’s Day if you take Friday Jan 2 off, plus 3-day weekends for MLK Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Labor Day, and Columbus Day.
“Observed” rule: If a holiday falls on Saturday, federal employees get Friday off. If it falls on Sunday, they get Monday off.
